While this is more a location than a place, it's a great area to send out of town friends to. There are a lot of cool little restaurants in there.
For a very nice and fancy place it's very well priced. They have an early bird (5:30) pre-fixed menu
This place was started by Nick from Nick's crispy taco after he ventured out on his own. It's in the marina and the people watching is just as good as the food. Get it Nicks way.
Your going to be at fisherman's warf so wherever you go will be touristy. This at least is authentic SF. Get the clam chowder in the bread bowl.
